Vegetarian food has come a long way in terms of mainstream acceptance, and it isn’t unusual to see a selection of vegetarian dishes on menus, wherever you go. Having a meat-free menu isn’t unusual anymore and is, in fact, embraced by meat and non-meat eaters alike.  Having an all-vegetarian menu means that you have a chance to think outside the box, and there are a variety of caterers that are ready to produce mouth-watering dishes.

If you’re used to seeing the standard pasta dish as the only option for vegetarians; then here are a few simple dishes that all your guests will love.

Salads and Sides

A starter can consist of a simple salad with rocket, goat cheese, walnuts and cranberries, or a green salad with peppers to add a bit more bite. Add some flavorful dressings, crusty bread or fries, and you’ll have a winning formul

Kebabs

Kebabs don’t have to contain meat at all. In fact, you can easily serve these up straight from the grill for a summertime feel. Stuff the sticks with peppers, courgettes, red onions, mushrooms and halloumi cheeses. Add some houmous, chilli sauce or a fresh mint and yoghurt dip for a colourful combination.

Hors-d’oeuvres

Vegetables like cauliflower and broccoli can be roasted and served with flavoured houmous and a sprinkle of garlic salt. You could also add a touch of chilli flakes and some lemon juice for a refreshing twist on the hors-d’oeuvres.

Mini pizzas

Pizza is so versatile and can be adapted for vegetarians in a flash. Guests can choose from roasted cherry tomatoes, rocket and goat cheese, olives and chunky red onions artichoke hearts, mushrooms and spring onions. There is no end to the delicious combinations to wow guests with.

Desserts

A fresh fruit platter and some cheeses (not all cheese is suitable for vegetarians, so please check) vegan cupcakes, and ice creams are simple, unfussy choices for desserts. You can experiment with vegan desserts such as mini cheesecakes, apple spice cake, peanut butter cups and coconut doughnuts. These desserts prove an unfussy, healthy alternative to the heavier, cream and butter-based desserts usually found at weddings.

Having a vegetarian menu for your wedding provides an endless selection of menus and dishes that will delight even the most hardened foodie. Vegetarian menus provide you with an opportunity to get creative, eat healthily and have a refreshing change to the traditional wedding menu.
